676 Health Sub-Centers sanctioned for J&K: Taj

JAMMU, Mar 1: Minister for Health & Medical Education Taj Mohi-ud-Din today said that 676 new Health Sub Centres have been sanctioned in the State by the Union Health Ministry.
Replying to a question of Ghulam Nabi Monga from Congress in the Upper House today, Mr Taj said out of the total, 429 Sub Centres have been sanctioned for Jammu Division and 247 for Kashmir by the Union Ministry. It has been done as per the requirement and the demand projected.  Muzaffar Parray pointed out that what was the criteria in selection and alleged that it was discriminatory decision.
Giving break up the Minister said,  in Jammu 29 new Health Sub Centers were  sanctioned,  54 in Kathua, 13 in Samba, 44 in Udhampur, 70 in Rajouri, 37 in Poonch, 39 in Reasi, 39 in Ramban, 69 in Doda, 36 in Kishtwar, 26 in Budgam, 16 in Ganderbal, 13 in Pulwama, 11 in Shopian, 23 in Kulgam,  38 in Kupwara, 43 in Baramulla, 14 in Bandipora, 18 in Leh and 18 in Kargil.
Replying to a question of  Dr Shehnaz Ganai, the Minister incharge RDD Ali Mohd Sagar said that an amount of Rs 106.73 crore has been spent under BRGF in Jammu division in last five years. He also gave the year-wise detail of the amount spent. Huge infrastructure has also been created in this regard.  Saar claimed that works under BRGF are duly recommended by Gram Panchayats/ Gram Sabhas at Panchayat level  and accordingly approved by the District Planning Committee  and the District Development Boards.  He also disclosed that 3871 projects have been sanctioned under the scheme during last three years.
The member however, challenged the figures under another project and alleged that out of Rs 41 crore sanctioned, Rs 31 crore remained unspent  during 2010-11, again during 2011-12 out of Rs 30 crore sanctioned just Rs 4 crore were utilized and  during 2012-13 out of  Rs 4 crore not even single penny was spent.
PDP member Asgar Ali and Congress member Jahangir Mir also raised supplimentaries.
