60 bags of cement seized, 5 booked

RAJOURI, Jan 2: The police seized 60 bags of cement being smuggled from the store of Tata Company, provided by Govt agency in Thanamandi area today.
Reports said that acting on a specific information that some workers of the Tata Company were selling the cement meant for raising towers in black on cheap rates to the locals in Behrote area. Upon this police party led by SHO Thannamandi Insp Surinder Singh under the supervision of SDPO Iftikhar Talib conducted raid and seized 60 bags of cement. The police found that many bags had already been sold to the locals of the area.
The police regisrtered a case FIR No. 1/ 2017 under sections 409/ 411/ 201 RPC against five workers of the company. They are- Nissar Ahmed of Kupwara; Sanjay Kumar, Imtiaz Ahmed and Mohd Iqbal from Banihal and Arif Ganai from Kot Behrote. Further investigation was in progress.
