6 teachers suspended, Govt school found locked

POONCH, Jan 29: Chief Education Officer Poonch Abdul Hamid Fani and Dy CEO  Mohd Sadiq Choudhary  placed five teachers and a clerk under suspension and withheld the pay of I/C ZEO Balakote for poor functioning during surprise inspection in several Government schools in Mendhar area of the district today.
The officers also found a Govt Primary School Nad Kunda locked during the visit and placed both the ReT teachers under suspension. They have been identified as Mohd Shafiq and Mohd Shabir. The CEO took feed back from the villagers of the area and came to know that these teachers hardly visit the school and the career of the children has been jeopardized.
At Govt Primary School Khait one teacher Mohd Rafiq was found absent from duty from January 16 onwards. He was also placed under suspension. Two teachers, Mumtaz Ahmed and Razia Bi of  Govt  Primary School Tarkhara in Balakote were also found absent and placed under suspension.
During inspection at ZEO office Balakote, I/C ZEO was not available. He had mentioned in the register that he was on tour. The ZEO was directed to explain his position regarding his poor performance in the official and administrative matters and submit his tour diary of  January 2014. His salary for the month of January was also withheld. It was also found that Accountant of ZEO office Ikhlaq Ahmed, senior on duty, had not closed the punctuality register till 1:30 pm which clearly indicates his malafide intensions to give undue benefit to the absentees. Accountant’s salary was also stopped. ZEO was asked to seek his explanation.  Senior Assistant Reyayat Ullah Khan in the same office was found absent from duty and he was also placed under suspension. Naveed Ahmed contractual DEO was also found absent  and as such attached with the CEO office Poonch for further duties. ZEO was directed to charge sheet Reyayat Ullah.  Salary of teacher Qummert-ul-Nisa and and Majid Anwar of PS Khait was withheld by CEO for providing undue favour to the absent teachers.
