JAMMU, Mar 2: Panjtirthi police arrested six gamblers along with Rs 6680 stake money and playing cards.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Panjtirthi Police Post conducted raid and apprehended six gamblers along with Rs 6680 stake money and 3 sets of playing cards.
The arrested persons have been identified as Girdhari Lal, son of Madho Krishan of Pakki Dhakki, Manohar Lal, son of Bua Dutta of Jullaka Mohallah, Ashok Kumar, son of Bodh Raj of Jullaka Mohallah, Devinder Kumar, son of Darshan Lal of Jullaka Mohallah, Rajesh Kumar, son of Jagdish Kumar of Pakki Dhakki and Shanker Verma, son of Satpal Verma, a resident of Mani Majara Chandigarh, at present Jullaka Mohallah.
All the arrested persons have been booked under Section 13 of Gambling Act.
Police team led by Incharge Panjtirthi Police Post SI Ajay Kumar Engotra made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Pacca Danga SI Dheeraj Nagpal, SDPO City Varun Jandial and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
