LOS ANGELES, July 27: A Chinese film company is teaming up with Marvel comics legend Stan Lee’s POW! Entertainment to develop five superhero films.
Former Marvel vice president Bob Sabouni will be serving as an art consultant on the projects, reported Variety.
The new Beijing-based company, Linking Star Picture, unveiled Monday, is a joint venture by Beijing Film, Beijing Novo United Films, and Hong Kong-based Camsing International, which owns POW! Entertainment.
Apart from the POW! projects, Linking Star has also set up a fund to support young talents and Chinese superhero projects.
Lee was retained in the deal as POW!’s chief creative officer. (PTI)

Henry Golding to star in Paul Feig’s ‘A Simple Favor’
LOS ANGELES, July 27:
“Crazy Rich Asians” actor Henry Golding has been cast as lead in Paul Feig’s upcoming thriller “A Simple Favor”.
Golding will star alongside Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick in the movie, written by Jessica Sharzer, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The script is based on Darcey Bell’s book of the same name.
The story follows mommy blogger Stephanie (Kendrick), who seeks to uncover the truth behind her best friend Emily’s (Lively) sudden disappearance from their small town.
The film is expected to begin shooting from August 14 in Toronto.
