50 bags of Govt cement seized

REASI, Apr 23: Arnas Police today seized 50 bags of Government cement, which was  being sold by a  PWD contractor in the open market.
Police has seized the truck, in which the smuggled cement was being transported and also arrested the driver  besides registering a case in this connection.
Reports said that acting on a specific information, a police party headed  by SHO Arnas R S Rao, laid a naka at Ghari Sai and intercepted the truck 7754/Jammu Temp,  in which 50 bags of Government cement were  being transported. On questioning by Police,   the truck driver  Mohd Amin of Jamslan Mahore revealed that these cement bags were illegally sold by contractor Harnam Singh of Kainthi Mahore to one Abdul Ghani of Ghari, Reasi.
Police seized the cement as well as the truck and also arrested driver besides registering a case in this connection under Section 409, 109 and  420 of RPC at Arnas Police Station.
According to SHO R S Rao, further investigation into the case is on and involvement of some R&B employees in smuggling of the Government cement can not be ruled out.
