REASI, Mar 16: Five vehicles have been seized for illegal mining here today.
As per official spokesman, a joint inspection team headed by ADC Reasi and comprising of SDM Mahore and DMO Reasi conducted surprise inspection at Kanthan and adjoining areas to control the menace of illegal and unauthorized mining.
During inspection, as many as five vehicles were seized for unauthorized and illegal mining and handed over to Incharge Police Post Jyotipuram.
ADC instructed the DMO to conduct such operations in future as well and keep vigil over the sand mining and other minor minerals and also initiate the process of auction of the left over areas so that adequate revenue can be generated.
