5 litres of liquor seized

KATHUA, Jan 9: Hiranagar Police today arrested one person and recovered 120 pouches of liquor of 250 ml each from him.
The arrest was made by a team of Hiranagar Police which was deputed by Inspector Suresh Gautam, SHO Police Station Hiranagar under the direct supervision of Dy. SP Raghubir Singh SDPO Border. During patrolling duty near Hiranagar Morh noticed one person who tried to escape after spotting the Police team. Police swung into action and apprehended the person alongwith the bag he was carrying.
Police recovered 120 pouches of liquor 250 ml each from his possession which he was carrying in the bag. The accused was identified as  Shammi Kumar S/o Tarsem Raj R/o Gurah Mundain area of tehsil Hiranagar. A case  FIR No. 7/2018  U/S 48 a Excise Act stands registered at PS Hiranagar and further  investigation into it is in progress.
In another case Police team of Police Post Nagri led by SI Vikas Jasrotia, Incharge PP Nagri under the direct supervision of  S S Sambyal Dy. SP Headquarters Kathua laid a naka at Jakhbar Dhabra and apprehended one person namely Arjun Kumar alias Judge S/o Mangoo Ram R/o Jakhwar Dhabra.  It recovered five litres of illicit liquor from his possession. A case FIR No 14 /2017 US 48 (a) Excise Act was registered. Both the police actions were conducted under the supervision of Sanjay Parihar Additional SP Kathua and overall supervision of Mohd Suleman Choudhary, SSP Kathua.
