Rajouri, May 29: J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages organized an All State Writers’ Camp here on Sunday.
The camp, which is being held in collaboration with Himalayan Education Mission Rajouri, will buzz with literary discourses and writing and recitation of poetry and prose.
About two dozen writers and poets representating different languages of the State are participating in the five day camp, which will conclude on June 3.
Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages, Dr Aziz Hajini, who attended the inaugural, said that the idea of a writers’ camp at Rajouri was aimed at providing participants an ideal environment for creative writing and inter-language discussion.
He said that through such initiatives writers get opportunities to share their experiences. This, he said, creates an ambience for serious literary activity and also provides opportunity for budding writers to interact with their seniors.
While welcoming the participating writers Dr Hajini hoped that their stay in the camp would be fruitful in terms of their creative pursuits.
Announcing holding of a State Level Urdu Mushaira and State Gojri Writers conference at Rajouri, Dr Hajini said that this would give further fillip to literary activities in the border district.
In their individual addresses, writers Dr Konchak Rigzin and Dr Manujeet Singh hoped that the camp would enrich the participating writers by way of sharing each other’s experiences and views on literary issues. Patron Himalayan Education Mission, Rajouri, Farooq Muztar also spoke on the occasion.
