JAMMU, Nov 23: Five- day free artificial limbs camp for the on-spot fitment of artificial limbs and callipers to amputees and Polio victims of Jammu region, concluded at Red Cross Sarai here today.
During the camp, about 197 persons were provided artificial limbs, callipers, tricycles, wheel chairs crutches and other appliances free of cost.  A team of 12 technicians of Kota branch of BMVSS fabricated, assembled and fitted 57 artificial legs and 34 callipers to the beneficiaries. Each limb /calliper was fabricated individually for each beneficiary as per his/her requirement. ‘Divyangs ’ from far flung areas,  including Padar, Doda, Gulabgarh, Budhal, Ramnagar and border areas of Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts were benefited in the camp.
The camp was organized in the memory of late Justice R P Sethi and  M C  Bhandari of BMVSS Kota by Viklang Chhatra Trust in collaboration with Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti and Regional Red Cross Society Jammu.
Satya Pal Saraf, organizer of VCT said that free lodging  and boarding was provided to the Divyangs and their attendants during camp days. Regional Red Cross Society made special arrangements for the comfortable stay under the guidance of  Ravi Puri, Secretary and Mangat Ram Sharma, Manager Red Cross Sarai.
At the concluding function,  21 tricycles and wheel-chairs were distributed among the registered beneficiaries. JRC Home for Handicapped rendered useful assistance in the camp.
Those present on this occasion,  included Chhatrapal, president Viklang Chhatra Trust;  Legal Advisors of VCT, Adv Sunil R P Sethi  and Vishal Kapoor;  Raj Sethi and  Secretary Regional Red Cross Society, Puri.
