5 arrested in separate cases of crime against women

UDHAMPUR, May 6: In separate cases of crime against women, District Police, led by Incharge SSP Benam Tosh, have arrested five accused.
According to Police, one Mohd Irfan of Partap Nagar Londana Udhampur was arrested for pelting stones on Nari Niketan inmates on the intervening night of May 4-5.  A case in this connection has already been registered at Udhampur Police Station while an associate of the accused, who was involved in the crime, was still absconding.
Three persons from village Kaith in Panchari, who were allegedly involved in a physical assault on a pregnant woman leaving her injured under the influence of liquor, were arrested by a police team led by SHO Sanjeev Sharma. Identity of the arrested accused was established as Faqir Chand, Charan Dass and Kaka Ram.
In Chenani, one Madan Lal of Nagolta was arrested by police on the complaint of his wife Pushpa Devi who alleged that she was beaten up by her husband under the influence of liquor.
