JAMMU, Dec 10: Police today arrested four persons including utensil and mommo sellers for exploiting a minor girl of Pacca Danga, Akhnoor for sex. With this, total number of arrests in the sex racket has gone up to five.
A police spokesman said the arrests were made after a complaint was received from Surinder Kumar of Pacca Danga, Akhnoor that her minor girl has been kidnapped.
Police rescued the girl and arrested the kidnapper identified as Gulshan Kumar alias Abhi son of Tarsem Lal R/o Tahngu Road near Old Sabzi Mandi, Pathankot.
During investigations, the girl disclosed that she had been sexually exploited by some persons. On her disclosure, police registered a case at Akhnoor police station under Section 376 RPC and 109 RPC against the accused.
The statement of the girl was also recorded before the Munsif Magistrate, Akhnoor under Section 164-A CrPC.
Four persons arrested on the basis of statement of the girl have been identified as Pawan Kumar alias Pappa son of Balak Ram, a readymade garment shopkeeper R/o Ward No. 10, Akhnoor, Amit Mahajan son of Chaman Lal Gupta, a utensil seller and resident of Ward No. 7, Akhnoor, Hardeep Tangotra alias Sahil son of Krishan Lal R/o Gandharwan, Akhnoor and Anil Magotra son of Harminder Lal, a mommo seller R/o Manda.
Police said hunt was on to nab other accused involved in the case as per statement of the victim.
