49 bovine animals rescued, 8 bovine smugglers held

UDHAMPUR, Nov 16: In a major success, Police today rescued 49 bovine animals at Chenani and arrested eight  smugglers, who were transporting these animals to Kashmir valley.
Acting on a reliable information, a police party of Police Station Chenani,  led by Insp. Paramjeet Singh,  SHO PS Chen-ani,  under the supervision of Charanjeet Singh, SDPO Chenani,  laid a naka for checking of vehicles. During naka checking, police  intercepted 4 trucks bearing registration number JK02AK-8637, JK02AH-9585, JK19-2086, JK14A-7985  and a Mahindra vehicle number  JK03F-1754. During searches,  49 bovine animals were found loaded in these vehicles.
Police rescued the animals and arrested drivers of the vehicles along with their accomplices.  The arrested accused  were identified as  Mohd Anwar son of Kalu of Pazipura District Anantnag, Mohd Hanif son of Mohd Rashid Gujjar of Sidhra Jammu, Yaseen Shah son of Jqbal Shah of Shar Bebi Chamal of  Banihal, Mushtaq Ahmed son of Mohd Sharef of Chander Kot Ramban, Parvaiz Ahmed son of Noor Din of Ram Pur Karibal Anantnag, Mohd Sheem son of Mohd Munshi of Bali Charana Jammu, Mushtaq Ahmed Gani son of Mohd Akbal of Kokarnag Anantnag and Junid Ali son of Glab Din of R.S. Pura Jammu.
Police also seized all the vehicles and registered a case FIR No. 146/ 147/ 148/ 2017  U/S 188 RPC,  at P/S Chenani.
