48 bike enthusiasts embark on motorcycle rally to Bhaderwah valley

Bhadarwah, Oct 31: With the aim of promoting adventure tourism and sports in Chenab region, 48 bike enthusiasts including 3 female bikers from across the country embarked on a motorcycle rally to the Bhadarwah Valley, via famous Chattar Galla pass in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir today.
The adventure ride sponsored by Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department was flagged off by Tourism Officer Zaheer Ud Din Naik from TRC Dandi and after traversing through several markets of the town and rural locations, the bikers group headed towards Kishtwar via Doda, from where bikers will enter sapphire Valley Padder via Gulab Garh tomorrow.
“These bikers drawn from different parts of the country are true vandrerous and they may act as a tool to promote the untapped and unexplored adventure tourism potential of Chenab region especially that of Bhadarwah, Doda and Kishtwar,” said Zaheer Ud Din Naik, Tourism Officer, adding that JK Tourism Department is trying to make Bhadarwah, as hub of adventure tourism.
“It’s heartwarming to see the participation of bikers from length and breadth of our country especially that of female bikers. This will go a long way to build a positive image of our State and will surely attract maximum tourists especially adventure enthusiast as this part of the State is nothing less than a safe heaven for them,” said Parul Jasrotia, a 25 years old Biker from Travel Days India Club.
“I have been adventure biking since long but this the best ever ride of my life, they (Tourism department) have given us this wonderful opportunity to explore the pure and virgin Bhadarwah valley, one should visit here at least once in his life,” said Preeti Choudhary, Bikers Brotherhood Motorcycle Club.
The bike rally which was led by Sachin Singh Sambyal CEO JK Adventure started on October 30 from Jammu and after passing through Bani, Basholi and Sarthal reached Bhadarwah last night. From here the bikers will explore some virgin destinations of Doda and Kishtwar districts after which the rally after passing through famous Sinthan Top of Kishtwar will finally culminate at Patnitop on 2nd November.
Bhadarwah town with its picturesque surroundings, high altitude meadows and snow filled glaciers has of late become a major tourist attraction. Every day hundreds of visitors including domestic and foreign tourists visit Bhadarwah. According to the figures issued by CEO Bhadarwah Development Authority,Dr Rajinder Khajuria more than 5.67 lakh tourists including pilgrims have visited Bhadarwah Valley since May this year.
Prominent among those who were present during the flagging off ceremony include, Sajid Khan Publicity Officer BDA, Sachin Singh Sambyal, Amar Pal Singh and Rakesh Koul from Adventure Wing of JK Tourism.
