Sports Meet gets underway at KV Bantalab

JAMMU, Aug 19: 45th Regional Sports Meet (U/19 Kho-Kho Boys) gets underway at KV Bantalab today.
A total of 220 players drawn from 18 different Kendriya Vidyalayas of Jammu Region are participating in the event.
PK Sharma, DIG CRPF (GC), Bantalab was the chief guest and Yogesh Kumar, Assistant Commissioner and Nominee Chairman CRPF (GC) Bantalab was guest of honour.
The formal welcome address was presented by the Principal of the Vidyalaya V Santhosh Kumar. The chief guest hoisted the flag and declared the meet open.
An impressive march past was taken by all teams followed by the oath ceremony by all the Captains of the teams.
A colorful cultural programme was also presented to mark the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, PK Sharma highlighted the importance of games and sports. He also called upon the players to develop sportsmanship qualities and sense of positive competitiveness.
In the end, vote of thanks was presented by the Vice-Principal of the Vidyalaya Romi Amrit.
