4502 pilgrims pay obeisance, about 2.47 lakh have darshan so far

SRINAGAR: Yatra to holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas was progressing smoothly as a fresh batch of 4502 piilgrims had paid obeisance on Wednesday, an official spokesman said this evening.

He said on the 28th day of the 60-day-long pilgrimage, which commenced from June 28 from shortest Baltal and traditional Pahalgam tracks, 4502 yatris had darshan of the self made Ice-Shivlingam at the cave shrine.

With this a total of 246667 pilgrims have paid obeisance so far. Majority of the pilgrims had returned to their homes after darshan while others are visiting tourist places in the valley. (AGENCIES)
