42 aspiring entrepreneurs pass out from JKEDI

JAMMU, Sept 15: A batch of 42 aspiring entrepreneurs completed their entrepreneurship skill development training programme at Jammu campus of Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI).
The aim of the training programme is to provide lessons on skill development, performance improvement as well as business trainings, sector specific trainings, leadership and self-development training to the aspiring entrepreneurs.
“There are lots of opportunities around us, we just need to identify them and set our course. Entrepreneurship as a viable career option can help and improve not only the individual’s economic position but can thrust the overall economic development of the State of Jammu and Kashmir,” said Majid Manzoor Khan, Regional Coordinator JKEDI Jammu.
JKEDI, a pioneering institute of entrepreneurship development in the State of Jammu and Kashmir, is playing a major role in providing a pro-entrepreneurial environment to foster the progress and prosperity of the State.
“The training programme is essential to equip the trainees with basic attributes required for being a successful entrepreneur. The training provides an insight into the business environment that the trainees are going to face in the future”, said Dheeraj Handoo, Trainer at JKEDI.
JKEDI is providing various schemes among them is Seed Capital Fund Scheme wherein 35 percent of the total project cost is provided by JKEDI as a support to the beneficiary and is known as seed money. This scheme forms a major component of Government’s flagship Sher-e-Kashmir Employment and Welfare Programme for Youth (SKEWPY) in the State.
A new scheme has been recently introduced called Youth Start Up Scheme (YSLS), which gives soft loans at six percent simple interest. Besides these schemes term loan and educational loan is also provided under the sponsorship of National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC).
