4 senior IPS officers proceed on Central deputation

JAMMU, Sept 27: Four more Indian Police Services (IPS) officers from Jammu and Kashmir have proceeded on Central deputation even as police today ordered transfer and postings at the level of IGPs, DIGs and SSPs.
Lalat Indu Mohanti, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP). Armed Police has proceeded on the Central deputation, where his services have been placed at the disposal of Border Security Force (BSF).
An official handout said services of Mohanti have been kept at the disposal of the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, for his appointment as Inspector General in Border Security Force on deputation basis for a period of five years.
“Mohanti will be relieved on October 10 for taking up new assignment,” a State Government order said.
Viplav Kumar Choudhary, an IPS officer of 1997 batch, presently posted as Inspector General of Police, has also proceeded on the Central deputation.
The State Government has placed his services at the disposal of Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India for his appointment as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Level 13A in the Pay Matrix on deputation basis for the period of five years.
Choudhry has been relieved with immediate effect for taking up the new assignment.
Udhay Bhaskar Billa, an IPS officer of 2008 batch and presently posted as SSP Leh has also gone on deputation.
Newly promoted IGP Nitish Kumar, an IPS officer of 1999 batch, who was till now officiating as DIG North Kashmir Range, Baramulla, will also proceed on deputation.
The Government today ordered his posting in the Home Department till his Central deputation is cleared. Sources said Kumar could be given prestigious posting in the NIA.
An official order said that inter-cadre deputation of Billa has been approved from Jammu and Kashmir to Andhra Pradesh for an initial period of three years on the grounds of medical hardship to the members of his family.
The State Government has relieved the officer with the direction to report to the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
Meanwhile, the Government today ordered transfer and posting of Ashkoor Ahmad Wani, IGP, officiating as DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua range, as IGP CIV, Police Headquarters against an available vacancy.
Vidhi Kumar Birdi, an IPS officer of 2003 batch, who was awaiting orders of adjustment, has been posted as DIG North Kashmir Range, Baramulla in place of Nitish Kumar.
Rafeeq-ul-Hassan, an IPS officer of 2005 batch, presently posted as DIG Armed Kashmir, has been transferred and posted as DIG Jammu-Kathua-Samba range in place of Ashkoor Wani.
Manohar Singh, SSP, presently posted with the office of Principal Resident Commissioner, Jammu and Kashmir at New Delhi, has been transferred and posted as Commandant Indian Reserve Police, 24th battalion against an available vacancy.
