KATHUA, Feb 8: Several motorcyclists were injured after a matador which was on way from Kathua to Lakhanpur today hit a motorcycle near JK Bank Shiva Nagar which in turn resulted into collision of seven motorcycles plying on the road.
As seven motorcycles turned turtle and four motor cyclists received the injuries also. Panic gripped among the matador passengers and passers by on the road also. However the driver of the matador fled after leaving the vehicle behind.
The Kathua Police has registered a case under relevant sections of law against the driver. The people of the area have demanded that the Traffic Police should maintain a proper check and punish the drivers plying vehicles at a high speed.
