4 killed in 2 mishaps

Jammu, Sept 24: Four persons were killed while two others got injured in two separate road accidents in Reasi and Kathua districts today.
Two persons were killed and another injured as a Tempo Traveller, they were travelling in, plunged into Ans River near Gulabpora, Mahore, on Chassana-Budhal road, this afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Mohammad Azam (30), son of Kamar Din and Mohammad Aslam (30), both resident of Phalani, Budhal.  Both of them reportedly died on the spot.

The injured, identified as Mohammad Arif, son of Mohammad Rafiq of Phalni, Samote, has been shifted to Budhal hospital in Rajouri.
The accident took place when the Tempo Traveller, on way from Phalni to Sungri, rolled down deep in Ans river, around 2.40 p.m. The locals rushed to the site and after hectic efforts, managed to take out bodies of the deceased as well as the injured from the deep gorge.
The injured were shifted to Budhal hospital where he was first referred to District Hospital Rajouri and then to the GMC Hospital Jammu in view of his critical condition.
In another road accident at Lakhanpur in Kathua district,  two persons were killed and another injured when a Mahindra Tractor, which was without Registration number overturned near Cremation Ground Lakhanpur in which they were travelling.
The accident took place after the driver of tractor lost control over the steering and the tractor overturned turtle near a slope on Lakhanpur road.
One person died on the spot. He was identified as Rafi, 15, S/o Masoof R/o Taraf Pujwal ,  Kathua. The other two persons were injured. They were identified as Wali Mohd, 27, S/o Lal Hussain and Shampoo, 42, S/o Makhan Din, both residents of Taraf, Pujwal.
Both the injured were referred to GMC Jammu by the doctors from District Hospital Kathua after giving them the first aid. But Wali Mohd succumbed to his injuries at GMC later. Lakhanpur police has registered a case under relevant Sections of the law and started investigation. The police has also seized the tractor. The condition of the injured is also stated to be serious.
