4 J&K teachers get National Award

Excelsior Correspondent NEW DELHI, Sept 5: Four Government school teachers from Jammu and Kashmir were among those, who were presented the National Award to Teachers-2016, by Vice President, M Venkaiah Naidu, here today, on the occasion of Teachers’ Day. The awarded teachers are Sushma Rani, Master at GMS Chack Rijju, Lakhanpur, district Kathua, Khajur Singh, Master, GHS Sumwan, Kathua, Gh Mohammad Lone, Principal GHSS Alsoosa Bandipora and Reyaz Ahmad Wani, Master HSS Barbug, Shopian. The award carries a Silver Medal, Certificate and Rs 50, 000/- as award money. Speaking on the occasion, the Vice-President congratulated the winners of the awards for the invaluable services rendered by them. He said this felicitation to teachers is inspiration to others to perform in the future. He also said that mediocre teacher tells, good teacher explains, superior teacher demonstrates and a great teacher inspires. A teacher should have an ideal behavior which can leave direct impression on their students as values are caught and they cannot be taught, he added. Prakash Javadekar, Union Minister for Human Resource Development; Upendra Kushwaha, Dr Satya Pal Singh, both MoS for HRD also spoke on the occasion and encouraged the teachers for their dedication towards work.
