JAMMU, July 1: Four Power Lifters from Jammu and Kashmir made cut in the Indian Team, which will participate in the Asian Power Lifting Championship to be held at Hong Kong from July 21 to 25.
The Jammu and Kashmir players were nominated by Indian Power Lifting Federation in the Indian team.
In Men’s category, Rakesh Kumar has been selected in 59 kg category, whereas Rajan Jain in 93 kg category.
In women’s category, Surmeet Kour Soni has been selected in 47 kg category, whereas Megha Jain in 63 kg category.
The Indian team will be accompanied by Sandeep Kumar and Manoj Singh as coach and manager respectively.
After selection of 4 State players, J&K Sports Power Lifting Association held a meeting here which was attended by its Secretary Narinder Singh Manhas, Joint Secretary Vijay Choudhary and other officials of the association.
During the meeting, the association members congratulated the players for getting selected into the Indian contingent and hoped that the players would surely bring laurels to the Country in general and J&K State in particular.
