4 bovine animals rescued, smuggler held

UDHAMPUR, Nov 7: Police rescued four bovine animals and arrested a smuggler, here today under the jurisdiction of Police Station Udhampur.
Based on reliable information, a Police party led by SHO Udhampur, Inspector Sanjeev Gupta,   under the supervision of DySP Hqrs. Udhampur Kameshwar Puri, laid a surprise naka on the National Highway near Jakhani and intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle, bearing registration number JK14 E 5749.  During search, four bovine animals were found illegally loaded in this vehicle. The accused driver, namely Mohd. Idrees, son of Abdul Gani of Qazikund was arrested on the spot while all the bovine animals were rescued and the vehicle was also seized.
In this regard, a case FIR No 518/2017 U/S 188/RPC 3 PCA Act has been registered at P/S Udhampur.
