4 arrested for smuggling bovines to Valley

UDHAMPUR, Oct 5: Chenani police arrested four persons for smuggling bovine animals to Valley and rescued four milch animals from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Chenani police station laid a naka at Chemparhi and signaled a truck bearing registration number JK02-AC/8569 to stop for checking.
On seeing police team, the driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape, but the cops chased and intercepted the vehicle near some distance from the naka point.
During checking, police rescued four bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested four persons on the spot, who have been identified as Mohammad Aslam, Abdul Gani, Zakir Hussain and Anwar.
The accused were smuggling the bovine animals to Valley, but active cops of Chenani police foiled their bid.
A case under FIR Number 92/14 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered against the accused at Police Station Chenani and investigation started.
Police team led by SDPO Chenani Vinod Sharma and SHO Police Station Chenani Inspector Mahesh Sharma made the arrests under the supervision of SSP Udhampur Suleman Chowdhary.
