4 arrested for attacking wine shop salesman

JAMMU, Apr 25: Akhnoor police arrested four persons, who were involved in attacking a wine shop salesman with sharp edged weapon.
As per police sources, on April 23, a complaint was lodged by Jatinder Salgotra, son of Kesar Mal, a resident of Ward Number 9 Akhnoor with police station Akhnoor stating that some unidentified persons attacked the salesman of his wine shop namely Thoru Ram, son of Mukhtyar Chand of Naiwala with sharp edged weapon and fled away with Rs 35,000 cash, when he was heading towards his house.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 74/17 under Section 307, 323, 341, 382 and 34 RPC and 4/25 Arms Act was registered at Akhnoor police station and hunt was launched to arrest the accused.
The injured person was shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Akhnoor for treatment.
During the course of investigation, police picked up one suspect, who confessed to commit the crime along with three other associates.
Police team conducted raid and arrested all the four accused, who have been identified as Anil Singh alias Furtila, son of Madan Singh of Khodeywala Camp, Ajay Kumar alias Sundi, son of Ashok Kumar of Naiwala, Raman Kumar alias Vishu, son of Krishan Lal of Chanjwan, Devipur and Jasbir Kumar alias Chotu, son of Sewa Ram of Naiwala. Police also recovered the weapon of offence.
Further investigation in the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Akhnoor Inspector Puspinder Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Gurvinder Pal Singh and SP Rural Arun Gupta.
