4 accused convicted in Bakra murder case

JAMMU, Nov 28: Principal Sessions Judge Jammu Vinod Chatterji Koul today convicted Rajesh Dogra, Vishal Singh, Naresh Singh and Deepak Kumar in the much publicized Sanjay Kumar alias Bakra murder case after 11 years long trial.
After hearing Rajesh Kotwal, Special Public Prosecutor for the State whereas Senior Advocate Sunil Sethi with Advocate Vishal Mahajan and Advocate Prince Khanna for the accused persons, the court observed, “where the ocular evidence is worthy of credence and can be believed the question of motive becomes more or less insignificant. Sometimes motive is clear and can be proved, sometimes however the same is shrouded in the mystery and is difficult to locate”.
“There are instances where the actual culprit only knows the real motive of the crime and the same is not disclosed neither the same can be gathered from the circumstances”, the court observed.
Accordingly, the court convicted Rajesh Dogra and Vishal Singh under Sections 302, 382, 109 RPC and 3/25 Arms Act. Naresh Singh was convicted under Sections 302 and 109 RPC for being active participant in the conspiracy with all other accused to eliminate Sanjay Kumar. Accused Deepak was convicted under Section 302/109 RPC.
