4.6 magnitude temblor jolts Ladakh region

SRINAGAR: An earthquake, measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale, rocked Ladakh region on Thursday morning, forcing people to rush out of their homes despite minus 15 degree Celsius temperature.
A Meteorological Department spokesperson said that the tremor occurred at 0822 hrs in the Ladakh region.
The quake was epicentred at 34 degrees North latitude and 78.4 East longitude with the depth of 10 km, he said.
He said the nearest town to the epicenter of the earthquake is Leh. (AGENCIES)
