4.43 lakh pilgrims pay obeisance at Shiv Khori

Reasi, Oct 24: Pilgrimage to the cave shrine of Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board (SSKSB) situated in Sanger hills of Ransoo area in Pouni block of the Reasi district is going on smoothly, with over 4.43 lakh pilgrims paying obeisance till October 23.
“Yatra to the cave shrine is going on smoothly after its resumption earlier last month, after heavy rain hit enroute track”, Executive Officer (EO) ,SSKSB -Tilak Raj Sharma said.
EO took stock of the ongoing work of clearing of track, restoration of water and power supply and other logistics en route and in cave area. The movement of the pilgrims is being continuously monitored, he said. Efforts on war footing were done to clear all tracks leading to the shrine and fully restore electricity and water supply to all the establishments and tracks, he added.
With adequate facilities being put in place, the Shiv Khori Shrine cave is now emerging as the 2nd biggest pilgrimage destination in Jammu & Kashmir after Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine cave. The destination has many other religious and tourist places along Reasi Shiv Khori road which include Aghar Jitto, Nav Mata, Baba Danser, Dera Baba, Seiar Baba, Biddas Baba, Chenana Devita Salal, Kalka Mata and Mahadev temple Reasi and famous Ziarat at Jandi Morh and Simble Choa where heavy rush of pilgrims is always witnessed throughout the year.
