35 kanal forest land retrieved from encroachers

JAMMU, June 19: In the anti-encroachment drive, 35 kanal of forest land was evicted from encroachers in Jammu Forest Division.
Even as stiff resistance was faced on the spot, the Forest team was able to retrieve back the land by removing fencing done by the encroacher.
On directions of Dr A D Singh, Divisional Forest Officer Jammu, a team of Forest officials, led by Range Officer Kalidhar, Surinder Nath alongwith Block Officer Khour, Krishan Lal, removed encroachment from Compartment No.30/K of Khour Block at village Simbal Kartyal and retrieved back 35 kanal of forest land from the illegal possession of one Jagan Nath, son of Amar Nath of Simbal Kartyal, tehsil Khour.
The Divisional Forest Officer directed for immediate fencing of retrieved forest land and ensure vigil in the area to prevent any further encroachment. He added that the anti-encroachment drive in the Jammu Forest Division will continue to ensure that the encroached forest land is retrieved back.
