JAMMU:  Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today said that 35 bunkers have been constructed under Border Action Development Programme  in the border areas of District Jammu.

”35 bunkers have been constructed under BADP 2015-16 in the border areas of District Jammu,” Ms Mufti, who is also in-charge Home, said in a written reply.

She further said that a proposal for construction of as many as 20125 community type bunkers at various places along the International Border/LoC in Jammu Division stands submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India for an amount of Rs 1006.25 crore.

However, the MHA, has approved construction of 60 concrete community type bunkers @ Rs 5 lakh per bunker, in the border block of district Jammu for an amount of Rs 300 lakh as ‘Pilot Project’, she replied.

The Home Minister further replied that the construction work is in progress adding, “up to ending December, 2016, an amount of Rs 176.87 lakh has been spent.” (AGENCIES)
