KATHUA, Feb 12: Kathua Police today seized 35 bags of polythene with each bag weighing 35 kgs which were being smuggled in a tractor.
According to police this morning at Bhagthali Naka a tractor bearing registration number JK0E/9176 loaded with polythene bags tried to cross the naka. The police personnel at the naka signaled the driver to stop the vehicle. Seeing the police party, driver jumped from the tractor and fled in the nearby fields. On search of the tractor police recovered polythene bags from it which were concealed under a thick layer of sand to hoodwink the police. The tractor as well as polythene has been seized by the police and case registered under relevant sections of the law.
