UDHAMPUR, Feb 18: Chenani Police today recovered 332.5 kg poppy straw (Bukki) from a truck even as driver of the vehicle managed to escape.
The truck, bearing registration number JK03A-9228, was intercepted by Chenani Police, led by SHO Pardeep Gupta, near Domil Chenani National Highway. During thorough search of the truck, its driver jumped out of the vehicle and ran away. Police recovered 332.5 kg poppy Straw (Bhuki) from the truck and seized the same along with the vehicle.
In this connection, a case under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Chenani.
