MENDHAR, Apr 9: At least thirty villagers have been taken ill after consuming unhygienic water of natural source at Nakka Majari in Balakote area of Mendhar Sub Division.
A villager Wasim Ahmed said that after recent rains, the water of the local Bowali got contaminated with flood and the people of Khori Peeng ( Ward No.3), Nakka Majari are dependent only on this natural source of water. The inhabitants have developed problem of loose motions and vomiting for the last two-three days. Over a dozen people are receiving treatment at Mendhar hospital while others at local Primary Health Centre and dispensary. The number of sick people is increasing in the area. The villagers have urged the SDM and BMO Mendhar to send a team of doctors to the area to take affective measures.
