30 cases settled in Lok Adalat

JAMMU, Dec 27: A Lok Adalat was held today in the District Court Complex Janipur under the chairmanship of Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge), Vinod Chatterjee Koul in which 3 benches were constituted to settle the cases.
Bench Number 1 was comprised of Additional District Judge (Bank Cases) Jammu, Bala Jyoti and City Judge Jammu, Surinder Singh, dealt with Bank cases while Bench Number 2 comprising 2nd Additional District & Sessions Judge Jammu, Dev Kotwal and Additional District Judge, (MACT) Jammu, Jatinder Singh Jamwal settled revision, appeals and MACT cases.
Likewise, Bench Number 3 comprising Special Electricity Mobile Magistrate, Jammu, Sudhir Kumar Khajuria and Retainer Lawyer DLSA Jammu, Sumit Bhat, dealt with Electricity and Criminal Compoundable cases.
A total of 35 cases were taken up in the Lok Adalat, of which, 30 cases were disposed off while an amount of Rs. 23,222,343 was awarded as compensation and a fine of Rs. 1500 was recovered on the spot.
