UDHAMPUR, Dec 20: In a tragic road accident, three youth died and their friend sustained critical injuries when the Maruti car, they were traveling in, rolled down in a deep gorge at Patnitop, this evening.
The deceased were identified as Rakesh Sharma, son of Sudesh Kumar of Sailan Talab Udhampur, Suneesh Kanathia, son of Subash of Jib and Sunil Mahajan, son of Jugal Mahajan of Ramnagar Chowk Udhampur.
The trio succumbed to their injuries on way to the hospital while the injured youth , identified as Rajesh (23), son of Nek Raj of Sailan Talab Udhampur, has been referred to GMC Hospital Jammu and his condition was also stated to be critical.
The Maruti- 800 car, bearing registration number JK02AD-5870, was on way from Patnitop to Udhampur when it met with the accident near Surya Hotel, Patnitop. Police and locals rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to PHC Chenani where two of them succumbed to their injuries while another one died while being shifted to District Hospital Udhampur.
