3 youths’ bid to join militancy foiled

Srinagar, July 11: Three youths, who were planning to join militant ranks in South Kashmir’s Shopian district, have been arrested, police said today.
A police spokesman said it have arrested three accused involved in the attempt of bank robbery and weapon snatching at Jammu and Kashmir Bank Imamsahab in Shopian. “By arresting these three accused, police have foiled their plans to join militant ranks,” he said.
The spokesman said that the incident took place on May 25, 2017 and a case under FIR number 107/2017 under Section 392, 511 RPC and 13 ULA (P) Act stands registered. “The trio had a plan of joining the militant ranks, upon successful completion of their attempt,” he said.
During the course of investigation, police solved the case by arresting three persons identified as Aqib Malla and Sabzar Khanday, both residents of Hillow and a resident of Trenz, the spokesman said, adding that further investigation of the case is going on.
