POONCH, Mar 5: The police arrested three youth from Surankote area for theft while a drug peddler with 50 gms charas was nabbed in Mandi area of Poonch today.
A police spokesman said that three youth, namely Tariq Mehmood, son of Musaffar Khan, resident of Lasana; Rafqat Hussain, son of Sabar Hussain hailing from Samote and Wasim Khan, son of Mumtaz Khan, resident of Dogrian and at present Surankote, were arrested in connected with the theft in the house of Mumtaz Hussain, resident of Surankote some time back.
The family had gone to Mumbai for treatment and as they returned home three days back, they found their TV, LCD and other goods stolen. Shamim Akhtar, wife of Mumtaz Hussain lodged an FIR at Police Station, Surankote and the police started investigation and finally managed to arrest the thieves.
Meanwhile, Mandi police arrested a youth Shab Din, son of Mohd Din, resident of Jallian village in Mandi today and recovered 50 gms of charas from his possession. A case FIR No. 20/ 2017 was registered against him.
