3 nabbed with stolen property worth Rs 10 lakh

POONCH, Dec 2:  With the arrest of three youth, Surankote police claimed to have busted a gang of burglars, effecting recovery of stolen property from their possession worth over Rs 10 lakh.
After several thefts in Surankote market in the shops and adjoining localities during last one month, SP Poonch Rajiv Pandey directed the SDPO Surankote Asgar Malik to constitute a special police team to solve these cases as there was strong public resentment in the area.
The police teams under SHO, Anzir Mir picked up scores of suspects  and placed them under sustained interrogation. During the process, one of them broke and he revealed the truth about thefts. He also discloses the names of his two other associates.  The police then recovered huge quantity of stolen ‘currency haar’,  stolen mobile phones besides other electronic and Karyana items  and  cash.
Three FIRs No. 206, 289, 296 & 297/2017 were already registered at Police Station Surankote in this connection. Those  arrested were identified as Bashrat Hussain, son of Abdul Khaliq from  Kallar; Mohd Arif, son of Abdul Majid, resident of Nakka Majari and Nazarat Hussain, son of Said Mohd, resident of Jarran Wali Gali.
The police said that property worth over Rs 10 lakh has been recovered from their possession and some more recovery is expected in near future. Further investigation was in progress.
