JAMMU, Jan 28: Three MLAs today staged walkout after they were not given chance to raise supplementary questions in the Legislative Assembly.
The first walkout was staged by Abdul Majeed Larmi of National Conference after he was denied opportunity to raise supplementary query to the main question of Aijaz Ahmad Khan regarding schools without buildings.
The second walkout was staged by another National Conference MLA Mubarak Gul, who was also not allowed by the Speaker to raise supplementary question. He wanted to seek reply from the Government about drainage system in his Idgah constituency.
Even independent MLA from Udhampur Pawan Kumar Gupta walked out of the House after his question regarding violation of Transfer Policy by the School Education Department could not be taken up during the Question Hour.
He had requested the Speaker to club his question with the question of Aijaz Ahmad Khan but his plea was turned down by the Chair.
Pawan Gupta, while talking to media persons outside the Assembly, said that false, vague and evasive reply was given by the Education Minister in response to his question. “I had written letters to the Education Department over violation of Transfer Policy by the Director School Education Jammu but neither the Education Minister nor Commissioner Secretary of the department responded”, he said.
