3 killed in Kishtwar road mishap, 1 in Akhnoor

JAMMU, Oct 27: Three pilgrims were killed today in a road mishap in Bhander Koot area of Kishtwar district while in another mishap, a motorcyclist was killed at Chowki Choura in Akhnor tehsil of Jammu district.
“The Kishtwar mishap occurred this evening when the driver of the bus bearing registration number JK 17-3057 carrying yatris from Sarthal Devi Temple to Village Tagood, Mughal Maidan, lost control over the vehicle and it turned turtle”, a police officer said.
He said that three boys identified as Ashwini Kumar (17) son of Shambu Nath, Sanjay Kumar (20), son of Sewa Ram and Dheeraj Kumar (15) son of Chuni Lal, all residents of village Tagood, Tehsil Mughal Maidan died on the spot.
“Police reached the spot and evacuated the dead from the site of the accident and shifted them in the mortuary room of a nearby Government hospital. The bodies will be handed over to their relatives after conducting legal and medical formalities tomorrow”, the officer further said, adding, a case has been registered and further investigations started.
Meanwhile, in Chowki Choura area of Akhnoor tehsil of Jammu district, a youth identified as Vinay Kumar son of Mulkh Raj, resident of Chowki Choura, was killed when an Army vehicle hit the bike bearing registration number JK02AP-7662 on which he was travelling. The body of the deceased was shifted to Sub District Hospital, Akhnoor for post mortem while the concerned police had registered a case and started investigations.
