3 killed, 45 injured in mishaps

SRINAGAR, Aug 27: Three persons were killed and forty five others injured in different road accidents across the Kashmir valley.
A police spokesman said a Sumo JK01D/7447 hit and injured a pedestrian Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh son of Abdul Ahad of Singpora at Gopan Nali, Hanjiwara, Baramulla. The injured was shifted to Sub District Hospital Pattan, where he succumbed his injures.
A School Bus of Vision Public School, Kupwara JK09/1351 collided with Tipper JK09/8926 at Khangund Khumriyal, Kupwara, resulting in injuries to ten students and a teacher. All the injured were shifted to Sub-District Hospital for treatment, where from two students have been referred to Srinagar. Among them Kasif Fayaz, 9, son of Fayaz Ahmad Ganie of Kalarooch succumbed to his injuries.
An unidentified Truck hit a Motorcycle JK04B/2703 near Bemina Chowk, Srinagar, in the jurisdiction of police station Batamaloo, resulting in on spot death of the motorcyclist, Sameer Ahmed Gojri son of Ghulam Gojri of Zaindar Mohalla, Habakadal, Srinagar.
A Maruti car JK05C/1476 rammed into a Truck JK05B/4391 at Hanjiwara on National Highway, Baramulla, resulting in injuries to the Maruti car driver Ali Mohammad Mallah of Harinara Sumbal. The injured has been shifted to JVC Hospital, Srinagar, for treatment.
A bus JK03/3288 turned turtle near Flour Mill Watayan, Handwara, resulting in injuries to thirty passengers. The injured were shifted to Handwara Hospital for treatment.
A Scorpio JK09A/0496 and Beat JK05/1537 collided at Chatloora crossing, Sopore, resulting in injuries to four passengers, who were traveling in the Scorpio. The injured have been shifted to hospital for treatment, the spokesman said cases has been registered.
