3 Days District Games for disabled conclude

JAMMU, Apr 8: Three days District Games for disabled at Jammu with the sole motive to explore their hidden talent though the medium of sports, under Khelo India concluded here today.
Deputy Inspector General of Police, MC Pawar  was the chief guest on the valedictory function, while Dr Anjali Sharma, Director All India Radio, Jammu Padamshree Dr SP Varma, Dr DR Kapoor, Chairman Sahyog India, GR Bhagat Former Director Social Welfare and Maj Nitesh Sharma, Secretary ASHA Army School, Jammu Cantt were the guests of honour.
299 persons with disabilities participated in 3-days District Games and enjoyed the various sports events as Football, Shooting, Throw Ball, Badminton, Softball and Shot-Put etc.
Ashwani Jojra, President SOB (Special Olympics Bharat) presented welcome address and threw light on the aims and objections of Khelo India Mission.
The chief guest lauded the role of Special Olympics Bharat for exploring the hidden talent of persons with disabilities who are absolutely unattended and deprived of all amenities and facilities due to ignorance and poverty as well as helplessness.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Thakur Kashmir Singh Manhas, Raj Kumar Sharma, Area Director, S. Prithpal Singh, Sports Director SOB, Jatin Chanjotra. Programme Manager SOB, Didi Raj Bharati-Vetern Gandhian KKVerma, President J&K Handicapped Association, Roshan Bhan, President  Association for Deaf, Vikram Gujral, Darshan Kapoor, Dr Meenakshi Vice Principal Asha Army School and Mr Johar the Law Officer Youth Services and Sports.
