JAMMU, Dec 7: A 3-day PMKVY RPL Yoga Trainer Program began today at NITS Polytechnic, Miran Sahib, Jammu.
The program being conducted by Art of Living – Sri Sri Rural Development Trust (SSRDP) in association with NITS Polytechnic, was inaugurated by Anoo Malhotra, Director Technical Education, J&K Government along with Savinder Gupta, Chairman, NITS Polytechnic and Director SSRDP J&K, Art of Living (AoL) State Teachers’ Coordinator, Dr Tarun Garg, Senior AoL Yoga Teacher by lighting the lamp.
Presenting welcome address, Anirudh Gupta, organizer of the program, said Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is the flagship scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE). Individuals with prior learning experience or skills will be assessed and certified under the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) component of the Scheme.
RPL Yoga is a platform to provide recognition to the informal learning or learning through practice of Yoga to get equal acceptance as the formal levels of Yoga education. It provides an opportunity to receive certification from NSDC, MSDE.
He said, “AoL teachers and those practicing yoga for long time are participating in this course. This certification shall certify them as Yoga Trainer under PMKVY which will be a nationally & internationally recognized certification”.
He further said that SSRDP is also conducting short term training programs for fresh youth in Domestic Data Entry operator, Assistant Electrician, Plumbing and Self Employed Tailor job roles under PMKVY in Jammu.
Anoo Malhotra, while addressing the participants, exhorted them to take this wonderful opportunity to get certified by NSDC, MSDE. She further emphasized that these new yoga certified Trainers will spread a wave of well being through yoga which will greatly benefit the state of J&K.
