3 bovine animals rescued, 2 smugglers held

UDHAMPUR, Jan 30: Udhampur Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and arrested two persons besides rescuing three animals.
While conducting checking at Kud on National Highway, a Police party led by SHO Kud Inspector Raghubir Singh intercepted one Mahindra vehicle bearing registration number JK14A-8056, which was on its way from Jammu to Kashmir Valley.
During thorough search, three bovine animals were found packed tightly in the said vehicle. Both the suspects, namely Shakeel Ahmed Lone of Sangam Dooru and Nassir Ahmed of Qazigund Anantnag were asked to produced proper permission for transporting these bovine animals from one district to another but they could not produced the same. Police arrested the duo and rescued the animals.
In this connection, a case FIR has been registered.
