DODA, Jan 11: Police arrested three persons along with large quantity of illicit liquor.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Post Khellani laid a naka and intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number JK06-6613.
During checking, police recovered 40 pouches of illicit liquor from the possession of rider and pillion rider and arrested them.
The arrested persons have been identified as Murli Mohan, son of Romesh Kumar of Durga Nagar Khellani and Rohit Katoch, son of Balak Chand of Khellani.
A case under FIR Number 5/18 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Doda Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Khellani Police Post SI Ravinder Kumar made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Doda Inspector Manjeet Singh, DySP Headquarters Doda Iftkhar Ahmed and SSP Doda Mohammad Shabir.
Meanwhile, a team from Kahara Police Post conducted raid in a house and recovered 15 litres of lahan and 2 litres of illicit liquor.
The house owner identified as Omkar Singh, son of Roshan Lal, a resident of Bhatoli Gandoh has been arrested. The lahan was destroyed later by the cops.
A case under FIR Number 6/18 under Section 48-E Excise Act has been registered at Gandoh Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Kahara Police Post SI Amrit Katoch made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Gandoh Inspector Anayat Hussain, SDPO Gandoh Sunny Gupta and SSP Doda Mohammad Shabir.
