3 arrested for breaking Naka, bovine smuggling

RAJOURI, Oct 17: The police nabbed three bovine smugglers and rescued cattle after they broke naka and tried to flee from the spot near Solki on highway in Rajouri area today.
Official sources said that Rajouri police arrested three persons who broke a police Naka and endangered lives of cops during a smuggling bid on Rajouri-Jammu road.
A police team at Solki Naka was on routine highway checking last night when one Mahindra Bolero JK12A/ 1989 was signalled to stop for checking. The cops at Naka tried to check the load in vehicle but the driver of the vehicle along with associates turned the vehicle and accelerated towards Siot endangering lives of cops.
On this, Incharge Police Naka at Bakhar raised alarm and all nakas’ were put on alert. Soon, a team from Dharamsal Police Station headed by SHO, Amit Singh was pressed into action and team chased the vehicle and after hectic efforts the vehicle was stopped and during frisking, cops found two oxen loaded in the vehicle in merciless manner.
The driver of vehicle namely Imtiaz Ahmad, son of Lal Hussain along with his two associates – Zaheer Abbas, son of Mohd Fazal and Mohd Younis, son of Jamdali, all residents of Mendhar in Poonch were arrested on the spot.
In this connection a case FIR No.104/18 U/S 188, 295-A RPC, 2/3 PC.A Act, 184 M.V Act has been registered at Police Station, Dharamsal.
