JAMMU, Feb 18: Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Anil D Sahasrabudhe released 2nd edition of book titled “SP Tyagi’s Code of Criminal Procedure 1973″ revised by Dinesh Singh Chauhan, Advocate, J&K High Court of Judicature at Jammu.
The book was released by Anil D Sahasrabudhe in presence of advocates from different High Courts of the country.
Anil D Sahasrabudhe in his address said that “Crime is a revolt against the civilized society and prevention of crime and ensuring safe life to its people is the Constitutional and Statutory obligation of the State which can only be discharged by constant adhering to and promoting procedure established by law besides due process of law”.
He stated that in India, the administration of Criminal Justice System is controlled under the provisions of Criminal Procedure Code primarily concerned with “How the Criminal Law is enforced” in India, adding that by its very nomenclature Criminal Procedure Code is a compendium of law relating to Criminal Procedure.
The Code like all other procedural laws is designed to further the ends of justice and not to frustrate them by introduction of endless technicalities, he said.
Sahasrabudhe while lauding the author said that Dinesh Singh Chauhan, Advocate while revising the 2nd edition of the book published by Vinod Publications (P) Limited, New Delhi has endured to explain the basic concepts and fundamentals of criminal justice delivery system with up to date case law delivered by Supreme Court of India and other High Courts of the country with exhaustive and critical commentary.
This book will prove of immense help and assistance to the members of Bar, bench and students pursing law, he added.
