28 bovine animals rescued

UDHAMPUR, Jan 13: Chenani Police today rescued 28 bovine animals that were being smuggled to Kashmir valley in three different vehicles. Police has also seized all the three vehicles and arrested the drivers.
Based on reliable information, a Police party under the supervision of SHO Chenani, Inspector Pardeep Gupta, laid surprise nakas at three different points of Domail- Chenani and intercepted three vehicles.
During search of these vehicles, which include a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK02BR-4686 and two trucks JK02S-0939 and JK02AG-8031, 28 bovine animals were found packed inside.
Police rescued the animals and seized all the three vehicles besides arresting the drivers, who were identified as Mohamed Shafi, son of Murid Husan of Gadi Garh Jammu, Mohamed Mahruf son of Fisha of Reasi and Arshad Ahmed son of Khan Mohamed of Sidhra Jammu.
In this connection, a case under Section 188/RPC 3 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Chenani.
