JAMMU, Dec 4: Jhajjar Kotli police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ seized 25 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Jhajjar Kotli Police Station laid a naka and intercepted a Tata 407 vehicle bearing registration number PB07AS-0459, which was coming from Srinagar to Jammu.
During checking, police recovered 25 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle, while the driver of the vehicle managed to escape from the spot by taking advantage of the darkness.
A case under FIR Number 117/17 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Sushil Sharma seized the poppy straw under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Yashvir Slathia and Additional SP Rural Shivdeep Singh.
