25 bovines rescued, 2 smugglers arrested

POONCH, Aug 9:  Foiling an attempt of bovine smuggling, Police today arrested two smugglers and rescued 25 bovine animals, here which were being taken to Kashmir Valley via Mughal Road.
The arrested smugglers were identified as Mohd Hamid and Sheraz of Barote, Thanamandi. They were held on a naka by a Police party from Surankote Police Station under the supervision of SDPO Ajay Sharma. The animals were being taken to Valley on foot via routes adjoining Mughal Road.
A case under Section 188 RPC has been registered in this connection at Police Station Surankote.
Acting on the information that smugglers may adopt small routes adjoining Mughal Road for reaching Valley, special Police nakas were arranged under the supervision of SDPO Ajay Sharma and instruction of SSP Poonch Shamsheer Hussain.
